Took me 1 hour and 30 mins to complete this. I manage to get "Endless?" achievement in one try. I won't do this for other puzzle levels, because watching puzzle level video without conscent may break puzzle mode replay value. One of my favorite puzzle games, it'll be nice to have more to shoot for since I've already completed the whole thing. I put the images for this trick in gif format, so that you can see them in infinite loop without any user interaction. This "vertical swap" trick requires very precise swap timing, probably the matter of a couple of frames, so this was completely unintentional please keep swapping, you will do itĭescription of what I nicknamed "Vertical cube swap" : fall of a block, and just after that, catch and re-swap of that block so that it doesn't falls at the bottom of the stack.
If you can't solve a level, the problem isn't from level design, or pad button not working, or your cat in front of your TV, or any "lag from PC" This is just because there are still some swap paths you didn't already thought.
If you are a Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon player, please consider theses videos as the proof that all levels in puzzle mode can be solved ! This is for the obvious reason that playing puzzle mode has sense if you solve it by yourself SPOILER: If you plan to play Tetris Attack (or Panel de Pon) puzzle mode, please don't watch the puzzle level videos ! You can also watch them on my youtube account, and in this case you may appreciate the playlist for theses videos, allowing to watch puzzle mode solved from level 3-10 to 6-10, and then enjoy the ending screen The game is now usually referred to as Puzzle League after the Nintendo. So all the puzzle mode videos I recorded from that time are available below in. Tetris Attack was the first North American localization of Panel de Pon.The original fairy characters were replaced with a selection of characters from Yoshis Island, and the 'Tetris' trademark was licensed from The Tetris Company because American audiences associated the name 'Tetris' with block puzzle games in general. I have some regrets not to have kept everything, but first levels are completely straightforward, and the fact that videos of first levels were lost cut by half the work required to prepare (upload, comment, write html, etc) theses videos ( ).
Unfortunately I don't have ALL the videos of 10+ hours of me trying to solve each levels, just one video for each level.īut hey, that was 2005 times, with 20GB HDD for both OS and data ! so it was technically impossible to record everythingĪnd for similar reasons I didn't recorded videos until level 3-10. I planned to upload theses videos on my homepage short after that (January 2005), but because of limited internet access, I procrastinated that task, and forgot about theses videos.Īnd recently (February 2016), Rey from Video Games Museum said "Tetris Attack is the best puzzle game ever", which triggered a nostalgia trip to me, so that I started digging my old files from the times I played Tetris Attack / Panel de Pon a lot.įortunately I could find that old videos files still here in my laptop HDD apparently the game wasn't designed to be played more than 10 hours ) (That explains why time counter stopped increasing after 9'59'59. I didn't had access to internet from my dormitory room, so it was code-free, cheat-free play of puzzle mode, good old root style of playing

Tetris Attack puzzle levels - story behind theses videos :īack in January 2005, I was student, single, had TV, Super Nintendo (Super Famicom renamed for European market) and Tetris Attack cartridge in my dormitory room.Īlso, I received an USB video capture board for Christmas, and had free time before two boring university classes, so I decided to solve all Tetris Attack puzzle levels by myself.
